Overview
The Pelican thermostats are controlled by the central app and with their touchscreen interface. Maximum and minimum temperatures are set by the admins. If your room needs to be hotter or cooler than what the touch interface will allow please let us know and we can look at adjusting it. If CO2 numbers are high your fan will come on automatically to try and get fresh air circulating in your room. For a more in-depth explanation of the touch interface please look at this article from Pelican.
Using the Controls
To make a change to the temperature in your room click the touchpad where it says touch to adjust:
During weekdays the mode will automatically be set to AUTO and you can click the + and - buttons to adjust how hot and cold you want:
If your thermostat is off press MODE, change it to AUTO, HEAT, or COOL, and then set the temperature:
Morning Settings
All of the thermostats on campus are programmed to begin heating and cooling starting around 6:50 AM. If you come in before 6:50, you can change the temperatures in your room beginning at 6:00 AM. They are learning thermostats so if you consistently are adjusting the temperature before 6:50, it will begin turning on when it thinks you will come in based on the average of the last seven days.
Afternoon Settings
At 4:00 PM your thermostat will turn OFF. You can turn it back on by changing the mode from OFF to your preferred mode and it will continue turning itself off every 30 minutes. At 8:00 PM it will turn off and lock the controls until 6:00 AM.
