PowerSchool is a secure online grading and attendance program that can be accessed from any computer with internet capabilities. Parents can access their child’s daily attendance, assignment scores, and school bulletin all from a standard web browser, Android, or iPhone. PowerSchool can also email parents on a regular schedule to keep them as informed as possible.
Protocol for Parent Portal Use
Assignments should be posted in the order that they are given by all instructors.
St. Isidore teachers will post grades within two weeks of when the assignment was due. We kindly ask that you not contact the teacher prior to two weeks to check on a grade for an assignment.
Refer to T1, T2 or T3 for the most accurate reflection of the trimester grade to date.
Please ask your son or daughter about their grade or assignment before contacting the teacher.
Check for email updates regularly.
How to Log In to PowerSchool Parent Portal
When you visit the PowerSchool website, you will be asked for your username and password. Keep your username and password secure. The parent and student each have their own log-ins.
Open your Web browser to the school’s PowerSchool Parent Portal URL: csdo.powerschool.com
Select the tab that says Create Account
Then click the Create Account button:
On the next screen you will Create your Parent Account with your own login. Please make your ‘Desired Username’ the same as your Email. You will also link your student(s) to your account:
Enter your student(s) information. Use the parent letter with the Access ID and Access Password that you received at Back to School Night. Lastly, when you choose ‘relationship’, it is the relationship your children have to you. Please select son or daughter, not mother or father.
You can enter up to seven students and then press Submit.
PowerSchool Website Overview
This is what you will see upon entering the PowerSchool website:
Each student added to your account will be listed on the top left underneath the PowerSchool SIS logo. Clicking on a student will switch to that student’s information.
Each of the categories listed on the left side of the screen will bring you to a different page with your student’s information. The following is a brief description of each category:
Grades and Attendance: Detailed attendance for the last week and current week are shown on this screen. By clicking on the total number of absences or tardies it will give you a list of each date and reason (excused, unexcused, AM or PM). By clicking on a current class grade (in blue), you will be connected to any assignments, tests, etc. that are included in that grade.
Missing Assignments: Shows any missing assignments for each class broken down by trimester and year.
Grade History: Final grades for prior years and trimesters.
Attendance History: View the attendance and attendance codes for the current grading period.
Email notifications: Select what information you would like to receive and how often you want a report sent. You can adjust how often you wish these reports to be sent to you. Under ‘Frequency’ section, check the box Apply These Settings to All Your Students? so you only need to enter this information once. The following screen shot shows you what the email notifications screen will look like:
Teacher Comments: Comments that have been given by your student’s teacher. Comments are separated by each subject that your student has. Click on the teacher’s name in this window to send them an email.
School Bulletin: This feature is not being used at this time.
Class Registration: This feature is not being used at this time.
My Schedule: This feature is not being used at this time. The default is set to the student’s homeroom.
School Information: This lists the address, phone and FAX numbers of the school.
Score Reports: This feature is not being used at this time.
Account Preferences: The Profile tab lets you change your email, username, and password if needed. The Students tab allows you to add another student.
How to Print in PowerSchool:
Several pages in the PowerSchool Parent Portal display a Printer icon at the top of the page. Click this icon and a printer-friendly version of the page displays in a secondary browser window.
Using the iPhone and Android Apps:
To use the PowerSchool Mobile app on your iPhone or Android you may search for it in your app store or click the link on the bottom left in the PowerSchool Parent Portal.
You will need to enter the 4 digit District Code: CFQZ and then log in with your PowerSchool credentials. The main screen looks like this:
To switch which student you are viewing, click their portrait on the top right corner and select a different student:
The bottom bar shows the different views. The descriptions of each are below:
Dashboard: The main Dashboard shows their Classes, Assignments, and Attendance (the School Bulletins feature is not currently being used).
Clicking on a class will show that class's assignments, attendance, and standards (if enabled).
Under ‘Assignments’ you can select Upcoming, Recent, or Status. Status lets you filter assignments that are Missing, Incomplete, or Late.
Classes: Shows all the classes your student is enrolled in.
Calendar: Shows the current month and any assignments that are due on each date.
Schedule: This feature is not being used at this time.
More: Lets you edit your Account preferences to change mobile Push Notifications, Email Notifications, change your Student Profile(s), and sign out of the app. Changing the Student Profile only changes how it appears to you, not how it is entered in the school’s records.
